MOLD’S IMPACT ON HEALTH AND HOW TO REMEDIATE

Michael Rubino

During this podcast, we discuss what mold is and why it’s so difficult to remove. Similar to weeds, when mold species put down roots, it takes time and effort to effectively remove them permanently from a surface. Not to mention, their microscopic spores (comparable to seeds) can travel throughout a home as they ride the air circulation inside.

The best approach to mold is to just remove it. While it may not be a toxic mold, it can produce substances that can also impact health. We discuss what those health effects may be and the ongoing research into the side effects of mold.

To ultimately save money though, it’s best to treat mold before it gets a chance to take root in a home. We go through a series of preventative actions listeners can take to stop mold before it starts. For those in the home buying stage, we discuss steps to take to ensure your future home doesn’t already have mold.
